Biography:
Timothy Parsons
Timothy Parsons arrived at Hereford Cathedral as the organ scholar in September 2010. Since then he has enjoyed accompanying the cathedral choir at least three times a week and has been involved with an exciting musical schedule, including the choir’s tour of South Africa in October and the recent performance of Bach’s St Matthew Passion.
From 1999 to 2005 he was a chorister at Guildford Cathedral under Stephen Farr, with whom he currently studies the organ. He then held music and academic scholarships at Charterhouse, where he regularly assisted with playing and conducting in Chapel, and learned the organ with Mark Blatchly. From September he will work with Sarah MacDonald as organ scholar of Selwyn College, Cambridge, where he will read music. Last year he gave recitals in St Lawrence Jewry, London, Winchester Cathedral and in Holland and Norway, and is shortly to give a concert as part of the St Davids Cathedral Festival.
